Research
As a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Harvard University, Dr. Bavyer has worked alongside eminent cardiologists on cardiovascular outcome studies. Most of his work has been published in highly reputed peer-reviewed journals.
As a Principal Investigator (PI), his work on "The Effect of Cocaine on the Heart" was picked up by the American Heart Association News Conference in 2012. Since its embargo, the story has reached over 146 million people by being featured in 233 stories and promoted by 149,291 people via social media.
As a Chief Cardiac Fellow, his collaboration with the Sinai Hospital Quality Committee and Sinai Urban Health Institute led to the birth of the "Transition of Care" program. He designed an innovative approach integrating EMR, low-cost Technology, and Community health workers to transition high-risk cardiac patients into the community. Since its inception, the program has helped several high-risk cardiac patients successfully recover and significantly reduced their odds of 30-day cardiovascular related re-hospitalizations and/or mortality.
Dr. Bavyer has an hawk-eye approach to tap into cardiac care opportunities beyond the traditional healthcare landscape to increase access, advance high quality and deliver affordable cardiac care.
